The whirlwind holiday season is descending upon us and with it comes some valuable opportunities to reach out through email marketing. We spotted this list of holiday campaigns over at The Financial Brand and broke them down with ways you can use the DocuMatix Product Suite to execute some of them. 

‘Tis the Season for Social Media

If you’re looking for a way to drive traffic to your social media sites, now is the time. From shoppers searching Facebook for deals to hosts scrolling through Pinterest for party inspiration, social media usage tends to spike from November through January.

Creating a campaign that focuses on a holiday-themed Twitter giveaway or a Facebook donation contest is a quick and easy way to spotlight your financial institution but we suggest the addition of email to really help it get noticed.

At the beginning of your promotion, create an email to let people know what you’re offering. Then, send another one just before the promotion ends to give it a final kick. For example, say you’re creating a marketing campaign that will donate $1 to a local charity for each new “Like” on Facebook. Send out a simple email to let people know when it begins and then another towards the end to let everyone know how much you’ve raised so far and that they only have a limited time to head over to your Facebook page.

Ho-Ho-Holiday Loans

With the holiday season comes a surge in holiday spending. As millions of shoppers hunt for the perfect gift, many of them are looking for a way to ease the financial burden of a season that can quickly get expensive. To alleviate the monetary stress, many financial institutions have begun offering special holiday loans or the option to skip a payment during the month of December.

If you choose to offer a special holiday loan, we suggest implementing Web Form Emails as a way to quickly gather information and reach out to applicants at a time that’s convenient to them during the busy holiday season. Using the example in this case study, just create a Secure Web Form that asks pre-qualified members the best time to call them and complete the loan application. Then, link it to an email you’ve created using the Email Wizard and send it out instantly.

Give Thanks for Referrals

Another idea for implementing Web Form Emails is to run a refer-a-friend campaign coinciding with Thanksgiving. Offering a reward to members that refer someone they know is extremely effective since the recommendation is coming from a trusted source, and we make it easy to create this type of campaign from inside the Email Wizard.

Simply create a Secure Web Form with fields for both the referrer’s info and the email address and names of people they would like to refer. The DocuMatix Product Suite makes it easy by listing an option in the Web Form creation drop-down menu that will set up fields for you with all the required info ( simply select “Referral” on the contact information screen.) Place the form on your website and it will automatically send out an email you created using the Email Wizard when a member fills out their information. You can also use the Email Wizard to let people know about your promotion and provide a link to the Secure Web Form quickly in an email.
